Project Description
Supporting pricing, contract negotiations, and wholesaler relationships through a period of significant channel change, including the execution of a major list price reduction.
The project
A global pharmaceutical company was managing pricing, contractual, and supply chain complexity on several fronts at once: renegotiating commercial terms with wholesalers, executing a major list price reduction, and managing the operational and contractual implications of price changes across its distribution network. The changes had implications across commercial terms, inventory, financial exposure, and wholesaler relationships, requiring close coordination across the different workstreams.
Our Approach
Upstream Partners supported the company across its pricing, contracting, and supply chain initiatives. The work included:
Supporting operational and strategic initiatives with national and regional wholesalers through a period of organizational and market change
Mapping potential local restoration initiatives and relevant stakeholders

Leading the analytical and operational workstreams behind a major list price reduction, from financial exposure modeling to execution readiness
Impact
The company executed a major price change with its financial exposure understood in advance, and its rebate and inventory transition program built around customer experience and financial control. Commercial terms were renegotiated on the back of financial modeling, and trading partners were aligned on new processes with minimal disruption to the wholesaler and distribution relationships.
